To create the delicious colors you see in Nancy Lymangrover’s scarves, she brushes stripes of dyes the consistency of colored water onto white silk and allows the colors to mingle freely. Then she sets the dyes with a steam and fixative process. Nancy creates her appealing silk window & wall hangings with a similar dye process using gutta to outline seasonal pictures.
A retired elementary school art teacher, she lives with her husband in their log cabin in the Garden Peninsula from May to November each year. If you’re lucky, you may meet Nancy at the gallery when she takes her turn running the shop.
